Massage Descriptions and Pricing

Swedish
One of the most widely used and well known styles, Swedish massage uses long, flowing strokes to stimulate circulation and promote relaxation. 5 basic strokes, all directed towards the heart, encourage the movement of blood and lymph to help increase the health and elasticity of the tissues, break up adhesions, increase fluid absorption around the joints, release tension and disrupt chronic pain cycles in the muscles.

30minutes - $25 60minutes - $50 90minutes - $75

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue is similar to a Swedish massage but utilizes slower strokes and deeper pressure to release adhesions and help realign the deeper layers of muscles. This massage style is especially helpful for chronically tense areas like the low back, shoulders, and neck. Rather than focusing primarily on relaxation, deep tissue massage is primarily used to address and alleviate specific symptoms, including: relieving chronic pain, improving limited range of motion, and helping rehabilitate injuries ranging from whiplash and repetitive use (i.e. carpal tunnel syndrome) to various sports related injuries.

30minutes - $25 60minutes - $50 90minutes - $75

Sports

Sports massage is tailored to the athlete by utilizing techniques and timing to enhance athletic performance and recovery. Many athletes find sports massage beneficial at various times throughout their training, depending on their goals and objectives. A sports massage before an event will help to loosen up tight muscles, and prepare the body mentally and physically for the event. Whereas a massage after can help reduce recovery time and decrease soreness by helping increase circulation through the tissues and flushing out toxins (by-products of normal metabolism that accumulate in tight muscles). Most sports massage sessions will incorporate facilitated stretching to help increase flexibility and range of motion in the joints. A thorough interview will be done before any sports massage program is started to determine the specific needs and goals of each athlete.

Shiatsu

Experience the invigorating tranquility of Shiatsu. One part pure relaxation and one part stretching and lengthening of your muscles equates to a completely distinct experience. Shiatsu is a Japanese style of massage in which comfortable clothing is worn while relaxing on a plush, warm floor mat. Incorporating both eastern and western philosophies, the therapist uses her arms, hands, feet, and knees to ease muscle tension, realign the energy meridians, and passively ease the client's body through a variety of stretches. This style is particularly fantastic for loosening up tight muscles and joints while increasing range of motion and flexibility.

60minutes - $60 90minutes - $85

Structural Integration

The aim of structural integration is to unwind and realign muscular patterns in the body, relieving pain and restoring the body's natural balance and alignment. This is accomplished with slow, deep pressure to affect the deepest layers of the musculature and connective tissues.
